Class Descriptions
BEGINNING YOGA A sequential learning class building on poses from one week to the next. New students benefit from a more focused detailed class, continuing students can work on perfecting your basic poses and refining alignment. Incorporating the Universal Principals of Alignment and life-enhancing philosophy of Anusara yoga. Classes will teach poses from
the Anusara Level 1 syllabus.

YOGA 1 Is for those students who have already attended a beginner class, or for those with some knowledge of yoga. It will focus on standing and seated poses, breathing, and relaxation. Poses will be introduced slowly, in a flow, allowing time for both body and mind integration. Good for those new to yoga, or for a refresher course to returning students.
YOGA 1-2 Focuses on refining the standing and sitting poses, back bends, and building endurance, using the Anusara Yoga principles of alignment. The fundamentals of handstands and arm balances are introduced. Students strengthen arms and shoulders as they develop techniques leading to these postures. Teaches poses from the level 1 and 2 Anusara syllabus. (see www.anusara.com)
YOGA 1.5-3 Focuses on a more advanced practice, ideally for those practicing at least one year. Poses will include arm balances, Inversions, binds & advanced seated poses. Students should be able to do handstands on the wall and backbends on their own. Teaches poses from the level 2 and 3 Anusara syllabus.
HIP OPENING CLASS is an all level class that focuses on hips, hamstrings and shoulders. Unlock your untapped potential by opening your hips. The root of many back & knee problems stems from having tight hips. Through this transormative and therapeutic practice, you will experience more freedom in the body.
VINYASA FLOW let your mind surrender to the movement of the body w/a meditative, flowing practice. This class will challenge your muscles and your mind by combining sun salutations and breath directed movement with held poses. Level 2 will include inversions and arm balances.
"NIYAMA" HOT YOGA A fun workout. This is the same sequence successfully, developed by Mac McHugh, founder of Niyama studio in Wilmette, IL. We make the room hot, so you can get rid of any toxins. 55 minutes of standing poses, followed by backbending series and seated forward folds. We supply the towels.)
THE PRACTICE Led practice with Chad. Students work with Chad and each other to advance their practice. Students should be able to do a handstand on the wall, backbends on their own. Level 2: advanced, Level 3: super-advanced. Teaches poses from the level 3 Anusara syllabus.

KIDS YOGA Is a super playful music & theme-oriented yoga class: Focusing on 2 age groups - 3-5 year olds, and 6-11 year olds. NOTE: The Wednesday night class only will be located 2 blocks East of our Yogawerks main facility: at St.Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E Main Street, Barrington. (Note, we are currently taking information from those interested in signing up for a kids class. Please email us if you are interested.
BUDDHA BABIES For 2-3 year-olds - this class is a 45-minute yoga session for baby, followed by 45 minute structured playtime. Structured so mom can drop off baby while she does yoga at our main studio space. ***Location for this class is just 2 blocks East of our Yogawerks main facility: at St.Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E Main Street, Barrington. YOGILATES This class will invigorate your yoga practice by integrating classic mat-based Pilates moves throughout your workout. Incorporated into your yoga practice, learn many of the original Pilates mat movements and blend them with vinyasa flow. Previous yoga experence is recommended. This is an 8-week sequential class structure.

YOGA & ABS This class will focus on core muscles, strengthening your abdominals, spine, improve balance, and overall strength. The instructor will place emphasis on core work pulled from various disciplines, to include classic mat-based Pilates ab work and many standard hatha yoga asana. Be prepared to move! (Note, we are currently taking information from those interested in partaking in a yogilates class. Please email us if you are interested.

Yogawerks is excited to be bringing Incredible Infants - a special three-part workshop series dedicated to mom and her newborn baby.

Fees: $75 for all 3 classes

About Toni:
Toni Gilroy, RYT 200, Certified Personal Trainer, fell in love with yoga over 13 years ago. She began her journey studying meditation and yoga in the Iyengar tradition. After exploring many styles, she found her groove in the very playful and heart-centered Anusara Yoga. Currently she teaches Yoga from the Heart, Pilates, and Baby Yoga. When working one on one with students, she blends Thai Massage and yoga for a deeper experience. For Toni, witnessing students blossom and grow is a daily blessing.
