In the initial interview, we will discuss any of your physical limitations or, past surgeries or injuries. We ill assess your complete posture, from your feet to the top of your head. We will check your overall shape and symmetry, determining the balanced energy in your body. You will be asked details on your history of treatment and medication, your work and home living environment, etc. We will perform diagnostic look at your structure and begin with carefully chosen postures to help bring you into optimal alignment. At the end of the first session, you will be given a handout, summarizing the postures and a routine you can do at home. Generally clients come for privates 1-2 times a week initially, if they are coming for therapeutic reasons, then after a few weeks, come once a week, or every 2-4 weeks, depending on progress. Testimonials
I was reading your bio that you sent. I cannot believe how similar our situations were. A lamonectomy gone amuck. More pain than before the surgery. Epidural steroids, drugs, spinal tap and than a fusion. To make matters worse I have spondylolisthesis. and spinal stenosis. ( I cannot believe how similar our situations were.) PT and
m ore PT , chiropractic, accupuncture, and massage. Then an epidural steroid gone amuck. That's when I saw you and Dr. Nuzzo on the Morning show. When I came to Chicago I was in such despair. For the first time in almost 10 years I felt that there was some hope for me. I feel that I will eventually have some control . I really can see that I am on the right path to feeling better. So far I've had lots of bumps but I'm confident that things will be better. Many, many thanks .

Looking forward to seeing you and Chad very soon

Joyce

"In 1999 a bad case of degenerated disks put an end to my nearly 20 years of yoga practice. I was in such pain that I couldn’t even do child’s pose. For nearly two years, I couldn’t do any exercise at all. Walking and even standing were so painful that at times I had to use a cane to get around…even if it was only a few feet. I was in despair, and thought that my life would never be the same, that I’d never be able to do the things that I loved again.

In 2001, determined to recover, I began to take private yoga lessons with Chad Satlow. Doing Astanga yoga was the last thing that I thought I’d ever be able to do. Chad started slowly, just with breathing and gentle stretches. He worked diligently with me, gradually adding poses as I began to regain my strength and flexibility. As important as the yoga was the healing energy that just flows from Chad when he works with you. I believe that this was a key part of my healing. Just as importantly, Chad didn’t let me rely on him. As soon as he felt that I was ready, he moved me from private lessons into a class.

Today I am virtually pain free and can do all of the yoga poses that I used to and then some! It’s a wonderful feeling". - SA
